  • We found this place by chance while looking for brunch and it turned out to be such a good surprise. It’s a no-frills little diner—nothing fancy, a bit worn-in, but in a way that feels cozy and real. The food was solid across the board: big portions, fluffy eggs, pancakes done just right. But the real standout was the homemade molasses bread—thick-cut, toasted, slathered with butter, and honestly worth the visit all on its own. Service was warm and friendly, too. Glad we wandered in.

  • Once again! Worth the wait! Great food, large portions and “Good old home cookin” flavors! Chanterelle omelet and the Red Neck Benedict were delicious and filling! The Molasses Rye bread is by far the star of the show! Recommended by a friend and I can’t agree enough! Don’t forget their beautiful home made pies too!

  • Excellent breakfast food! Large portions, super friendly and efficient staff, great prices and amazing cookies. Get there early! Biscuits and gravy, cinnamon roll french toast, redneck benedict and the pumpkin bread french toast were all incredible!!!!!!!!!! No we didn't eat all that in one day, we did go several times for breakfast. Don't pass this one up, it IS worth the wait!!!!!

  • This is a great classic diner. The homemade breads are fantastic. My husband thoroughly enjoyed an omelet full of fresh chanterelle mushrooms (even though it was also full of raw white onion, which took away from the dish). The only disappointment was that we didn’t bring a large enough cooler with us to bring a pie or cinnamon rolls along on the rest of our trip.

  • Huge portions! The chicken fried steak filled the plate and had a second plate for the bread. Thier 'cup' of soup was a bowl by my standards, good portions. Tasty and hearty. It isn't a huge restaurant, so if you had a larger group than five, you'd want to make special arrangements. They have a parking lot proportional to the size of their dining area. So if the parking lot is full, it would be a good sign that they are full too! They said they serve breakfast all day, so that's a plus! The food is good old comfort food and general 'American'. Hamburgers, omlets, sandwiches, soups, and a few salad options. I'm sure there are one or two vegetarian options if you ask. The bread is home made and delicious! We didn't have room to try their baked goods, but the selection looked good and we are seriously considering going back to try the pie. Service was great! It was mostly quiet, but got louder as we got into the lunch hour and business picked up. It was not too loud to have a conversation though. You get what you pay for and I think the prices are reasonable.

  • The clam chowder was incredible and creamy. We had the special mushroom omelet and tuna melt. Tuna melt is such an average dish but the best one I've ever had due to the bread and seasonings. Had the kids pancake and everything was delicious. Our server Peter was awesome.

  • Look closely at the bacon folks. Yes, there's actual bacon on the bacon. That's extremely rare in restaurants. Which is one of the many reasons why this place is so popular. It took us three tries to finally get it. Parking lot is always full, and the waiting list is always long. Prepare for a good half hour wait in line. But once in, you will enjoy a good hardy meal. The small army of staff is a well oiled machine, friendly and on point. They not only pride themselves on the quality of their food, but also their baked goodies and pies.

  • The service, seasoning salt, food and atmosphere are off the hook. Very road trip! Normally when I order chicken fried steak I have to add salt and pepper. But these guys made some of the best I've ever had!!! Yes generous portions. Yes German potatoes Yes to the black molasses bread!!! When you see the sign "worth the weight" then taste the food, you know why you need to come here! Highly recommend for a foodie roadtrip!
